As a voracious reader, with a background in history, modern languages, environmental law, literacy coaching and school governance, and with two (ex-!)teenagers and a husband with varied reading tastes,  Alison has a knack of finding the right book for you!

A photographer by profession, and bringing experience from running a children's books department in Ottakar's, Tina has an enormous collection of cookbooks and devours all genres, with a particular fondness for Japanese and Korean fiction (in translation!)

As a professional concert cellist and a cello teacher for over 30 years, it seemed obvious that Clare would bring something special to the Barnett’s team - have you seen her window displays?!

Luckily for us, she reads books as much as she reads music!

Jasper, it has to be said, is not a great reader – though he’d be willing to give it a go if it meant he got some attention.

He is a very friendly old dog who is as comfortable in the store room at Barnett’s as he is on his armchair
